Carroll Rainey

Carroll Lee Rainey, 68, Independence, MO, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2012.

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Carroll was born July 15, 1944 in Knob Noster, MO the son of William and Josephine Rainey. He had worked for the Goodwill Industries as a truck driver, and as maintenance at the Kauffman Stadium. Carroll later retired from A&A Bumper as a delivery driver. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a shade tree mechanic of all types. Most of all Carroll enjoyed being with his family that loved him and will dearly miss him.

He is survived by his loving wife Barbara of 24 years; daughter, Pam Rainey Smith; son, William Lee Rainey and wife Monica; daughter, Wendy Gardner and husband Rick; son, Robert Martin and wife Julie; grandchildren, Lacy Shanks and husband Todd, Pvt. Dalton Smith, Courtney Carter, Britny, Mariah, Madison and William Rainey, Ashlee Evans and husband Jon, Tyler Martin and wife Rachael, Nathanial, Carter, and Eli Martin; a future great grandbaby; sister, Phyllis McCallis; brothers, Gary, James, Donald and Charles Rainey; and numerous nieces, nephews, and family.

Carroll was preceded in death by his son in law, Derek Smith; brothers, David and Gaylen Rainey and his parents.
