Florence M. Ralston, 91, Independence, MO, died Monday, November 15, 2004, at the Rosewood Health Center. Services will be 10:00 am Thursday, November 18, at Speaks Suburban Chapel; burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 pm Wednesday at the Chapel. Mrs. Ralston was born December 13, 1913, in Bonesteel, South Dakota, to Otto and Lilian (Flowers) Gamet. She attended Graceland College in Lamoni, IA, where she met her future husband, Russell Ralston. They eventually made their home in Independence, MO, where they raised their family. Mrs. Ralston was an elementary school music teacher and loved giving private piano lessons. She enjoyed cooking and sewing, and spending time with her family. She sang in the Messiah Choir for many years and was active in church work, along with her husband. She was a member of the Community of Christ and had attended the South Chrysler congregation. Mrs. Ralston was preceded in death by her husband, Russell, in 2001, and her daughter, Lynne Rae Ralston. She is survived by her three sons, Alan Ralston, Independence MO, David Ralston and his wife Jan, Independence MO, and Jon Ralston and his wife Lisa, Chester, IL; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
