Benjamin L. Ramos, 82 of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Graveside services will be 3:30 p.m., Saturday at Mt Washington Forever Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 7 to 9:00 p.m., Friday evening at the Nativity of Mary Catholic Church. Benjamin was born July 16, 1924 in Manila, Philippines to Franciso and Salud (Lozada) Ramos. He graduated from public schools in the Philippines and received a BS degree in economics from Lyceum of the Philippines and a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Feati University also in the Philippines. He enjoyed watching sports, especially boxing, his pets, movies and eating out. He was a member of Nativity of Mary Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus at the church. He was also a reserve officer in the Philippine Air Force. He was married to Belen Magbanua on January 12, 1957, she survives of the home. Other survivors include; 3 daughters, Bernie Arthur of Independence, MO, Marie Belinda Ramos of Jacksonville, NC and Rhiza Ramos of Quezon City, Philippines; a son, Glenn Ramos of Quezon City, Philippines; 2 sisters, Jacinta Ramos and Fely Reyes both of Manila, Philippines and 6 grandchildren, Bryan Arthur, Mark Arthur, Sandy Ramos, Daniel Ramos, Benjamin Ramos and Miguel Ramos.
