Reginald “Rick” Ramsey, 70, Blue Springs, MO passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012.
Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2012 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St. Independence, MO 64055. A celebration of Rick’s life will be at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Rick was born October 14, 1941 in Salinas, CA. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving with the Special Forces during the Vietnam War. He was a scout master and a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. Rick retired from Lake City Ammunition and later retired as an over the road truck driver. He attended Woods Chapel Bible Fellowship. Rick and his wife were foster parents for a number of years and Rick enjoyed teaching scouting to the foster boys. His hobbies included reading about history, John Wayne western movies, collecting war memorabilia and classic cars.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his loving wife Cathy of 21 years; son, Dean Allen Ramsey, daughter, Cheryl Ann Skinner; son, Steven Wayne Skinner and his wife Hope; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren; sisters, Claudia Wilson and Joshan Collins.
