Betsy Rankinen

On November 16th, 2018 Betsy met her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Graveside services will be at 2 pm, Tuesday Nov. 20 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Independence, MO.
Betsy is now with her husband, Robert and her three sons, Dale, Darrell and Shawn who have preceded her in death. She is survived by her granddaughter Charity Carlson.
Betsy’s life on earth was filled with her love for our Lord and her love for nature and children. She fostered over 40 children and was heartbroken when she could no longer pick up the children and hold them at age 82. Betsy was always active in the Southern Baptist Church and worked in children’s homes in Chicago and Missouri.
She was born February 24, 1926 in Leavenworth KS and graduated Leavenworth High in 1944. She attended Wheaton College and Taylor University and married Robert in 1966. Betsy stated, “When a soul goes to heaven, angels rejoice”. Betsy’s soul and spirit will be missed here on earth but the angels in heaven will be rejoicing forever as her soul has finally arrived.
