Daniel Wayne Ray, 74 of Independence, MO passed away, Fri. Aug 19, 2005
at St. Lukes Hospital. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Monday,
Aug 22 at the Speaks Buckner Chapel, 300 Adams St. Buckner, MO. with the
visitation being held from 1 - 2:00 pm, immediately prior to the
service. Burial in Buckner Hill Cemetery. Mr. Ray was born on Aug 20,
1930 to Seth and Alta (Stong) Ray in Independence, KS. He had live most
of his life in Buckner, MO before moving to Stockton, MO and then to
Independence, MO. He had been employed with the Ford Motor company
beginning in 1952 as an assembly lineman, then going to the Claycomo
Plant where he had been an inspector and then retiring in 1992 as a Tow
Driver. Mr. Ray was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved
to spend time with his family and go fishing, hunting and spend quiet
time reading. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps. He was a member
of the UAW, the Masonic Lodge of Buckner and the First Baptist Church
of Buckner, where he had previously served as a Sunday School Teacher.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James E. Ray.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lois Ray of Independence. Three
children, James "Jim� Ray and wife Salee of St. George, SC; Mike Ray and
wife Maylinda "JO� of Excelsior Springs, MO and Kimberly Wormsley and
husband, Jason of Rochester, NY. Eight grandchildren and two great
grandchildren.
