John H. Reavis, Jr., 85, Independence, MO passed away March 19, 2007. Committal services with Full Military Honors will be held at 1 pm, Thursday, March 22, 2007 at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Wed. at Carson-Speaks Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to SouthernCare Hospice, 1240 N.E. Windsor Drive, Lee�s Summit, MO 64086.
John was born Aug. 21, 1921 in Blue Lick, MO. He was a proud veteran of the Army Air Corps where he flew 35 missions over Europe as a waist gunner on a B-17 with the 390th Bomb Group. He worked 25 years for the Kansas City, MO. School District, retiring as a building manager.
John is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gloria C. Reavis, of the home; daughters Carole J. McManus, Blue Springs, MO; Connie S. Reavis, Kansas City, MO; son Randy Reavis; sister Velma Louise Duckett, both of Independence; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
