Rebecca Lynn Pement

October 22, 1939 — April 4, 2025

Independence

Rebecca Lynn Pement was born on October 22, 1939, in Healdton, Texas. She grew up in Oklahoma and graduated from Tulsa Central High School. She lived a remarkable life filled with compassion, creativity, and dedication to God, her family, and profession.

Becky devoted her career to health care as a nurse. She worked at St. Anthony's Hospital in Denver in the ER, Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka in the ER and as the Surgical Supervisor, Menorah Medical Center in Kansas City in the surgical unit, and at the Independence Sanitarium and Hospital in the ER, OP Surgery, and supervisor of the Chargemaster and Auditing Departments. She made many lifetime friends with others in her field. Her patients will remember her not only for her adeptness in nursing but also for her heartfelt kindness to those she served.

Becky achieved her Associates of Arts and Nursing degrees, but her greatest accomplishments were found in the warmth of her family. She cherished her role as a loving wife, and devoted mother. She found immeasurable joy in her grandchildren and great grandchild.

Becky had a passion for gardening and landscaping, always striving to create beauty in her yard. Her love of nature extended to her fondness for birds. Alongside her gardening talents, Becky was exceptionally gifted in various crafts and had a deep appreciation for music.

Traveling was another of Becky's pleasures; she explored the world with an adventurous spirit and a heart full of faith, which guided her throughout her life. This strong faith provided her with comfort and strength, especially during her final moments, as she left this world surrounded by love.

Becky departed from this life on April 4, 2025, in Independence, Missouri, surrounded by love. Becky is survived by her husband, Frederick Pement; daughter, Sheri (Jeff) Gregory; grandchildren, Ryan Chapman, Haylee (Jordan) Hicks, Trevor Gregory, Tanner Chapman, Noah Chapman; great grandchild, Parker Hicks.
