Carol Lee Rector, 86, Blue Springs, MO, formerly of Independence, MO, passed away Aug. 3, 2017. Services will be 3 pm, Sunday, Aug. 13 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence MO. Visitation will begin at 1:30 pm before the service at the chapel. Committal services will be at 10:30 am, Monday, Aug. 14 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Independence, MO. Carol was born Dec. 6, 1930 in Sabetha, KS. Her family moved to the Kansas City area and she graduated from Northeast High School. She worked at Curt’s Meat Market in Independence for many years. She was an artist all of her life and instructed many students in techniques of drawing and painting. She was a member of the Red Hat Society in Independence, Heart ‘n Tolers and the Society of Decorative Painters. Most of all, she loved her family and grandchildren.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband William D. Rector, Sr. and son Rob Rector. She is survived by son Bill Rector, Jr. and wife Shari; daughter Karen Cook and husband David, all of Independence, MO; brother Jerry Osborne and wife Donna, Lee’s Summit, MO; daughter-in-law Pam Rector; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many other family members.
