Donald K. Reid, 83 of Independence, MO passed away, Monday, January 19, 2015 at his lake home in Camden County, MO. Memorial services to be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time Saturday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Humane Society or your local animal shelter. Don was born November 7, 1931 in Columbia, MO to Robert K. and Grace (Eaton) Reid. He graduated from public schools and attended University of Missouri. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. After the war he began work for the Defense Mapping Agency as a Cartographer and worked for over 30 years until he retired in 1988. He enjoyed all outdoor activities including camping, hiking, traveling and spending time at his lake home. He was very active in conservation and the humane society. He was married to Bonnie Sue (Rexroad) who preceded him in death in 2008. Survivors include; a daughter, Anne C. Brammer and husband Chris of Blue Springs, MO; a son, Bruce B. Reid and fiancé Marie C. Caprefoli of Independence, MO; a sister, Ruth Johnson of Michigan; a brother, Phil Reid of Columbia, MO; 6 grandchildren, Sabrina, Kenny, Jason, Andrew, Sarah and Justin and 4 great grandchildren.
