Wanita B. "Winnie" Reiss (Lamb)

Wanita “Winnie” Reiss, 87, Lee’s Summit, MO passed away May 5, 2018. Services will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 8 at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 9349 E. 65th St., Raytown, MO 64133; interment at Floral Hills Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am before the service at church.
Winnie was born Nov. 27, 1930 in Kansas City and graduated from Central High School at age 16. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Olympians and the Society of Literary History. In June of 1948 she married George Reiss, Jr., the love of her life.
Winnie was a people person who loved to play golf, bridge and socialize with family and friends. She was a member of the Order or Eastern Star for fifty-nine years. She has been a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church since 1964 where she served on the Altar Guild, Vestry and as a Lector. She was also a member of the Vaile Victorian Society and United Easter Democrats. She retired from the K.C. VA Hospital in 1995 after thirty years of service.
Winnie was preceded in death by her husband George Reiss, Jr., daughter Donna Suzanne, her parents William E. and Cora E. Lamb and sister Wilma Combs. She is survived by daughter Deborah Joy Link and husband Rick, grandchildren Jennifer Ohrmund, Jamie Wiseman, Joshua Edwards; step-granddaughter Janelle Chmura and ten great-grandchilren.
