Danny Renfrow, 73, of Blue Springs, MO passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side January 5, 2019. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 6-8pm at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Funeral services will be 10 am Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the chapel. Burial with full Military Honors will be in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Danny was born on May 26, 1945 in Independence, MO to James and Alice (Daniels) Renfrow. In 1962 Danny enlisted in the United States Navy, serving on the USS Constellation. One of the fastest ships in the Navy, as proven by her victory during a battlegroup race held in 1985, she was nicknamed "Connie" by her crew and officially as "America's Flagship". He returned after his tour to duty to the family business, (where he had worked since the age of 7) Machinery Spare Parts in Independence, MO until his retirement until 2016. In September 26, 1966 he married the love of his life, Sheila O’Dell. To this union 2 children were born, Danny and Danielle. Danny had a lifelong passion for skeet shooting, and enjoyed teaching others. He couldn’t wait to get his grandsons to join him. Danny was a Cub Scout leader at Fairmount Church for many years, a Sunday school teacher and Deacon at Castleview Church and also took part in the Indian Y Club w/his son. He enjoyed just hanging out with friends and talking shop. He was there for anyone, always willing to lend a helping hand. Danny was a member of Lee’s Summit Bible Church. Survivors include: wife of 52 years, Sheila Renfrow; son Danny Renfrow and his children Megan and Ryan; daughter Danielle Flood and her husband Mike and their children Wyatt, Weston and Walker; sisters Pat Brown and Pam McClure; former daughter in law Peggy Renfrow; a large extended family and many friends. Danny is preceded in death by his parents, brother Jim Renfrow and a sister, Betty Johnson.
