Billy Max "Bill" Reynolds, 69, Independence, Mo., passed away Saturday, June 25, 2005, at his home. Mr. Reynolds was born March 15, 1936, in El Dorado Springs, Mo., the son of Harrison W. and Elsie (Blystone) Reynolds, and had lived in Independence since 1960. He married Nancy Jo Morris on July 18, 1953, in El Dorado Springs. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a paratrooper with the 82nd Air Bourne Division at Fort Bragg, N.C. He had been stationed in Texas, Kentucky, Korea, North Carolina and Georgia. He was a route driver for the Mid-America Coca-Cola Bottling Co. for 32 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Coal Hill Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Wanda Huff Biddlecome. His survivors include his wife of 52 years, Nancy Jo Reynolds of the home; one son, Michael Ray "Mike" Reynolds of Independence; one daughter, Jillayne Ann "Jill" Ritchie and husband, Rory, of Lee's Summit, Mo.; a brother and sister-in-law, Jess and Donnie Reynolds of Harrisonville, Mo.; his mother-in-law, Annabel (Morris) Walter and husband, Chester, of El Dorado Springs; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Donita and Bill Mills of Carthage, Mo.; four granddaughters, Kirsten Elaine Paul and husband, Sam, of Blue Springs, and Amber Rae Reynolds, Bailey Jo Reynolds and Amanda Williams, all of Independence; four great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Lyndsey and Kelsea Paul of Blue Springs, and Skylar Cranmer of Independence; and many other loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, at Hackleman Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs, (417) 876-6666. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, Winner Road at Fuller, Independence, (816) 252-7900, and from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hackleman's. Burial will be in Anna-Edna Cemetery, Jerico Springs, MO, with military rites provided by the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
