Kevin M. Rhode, 66, passed away on Sept. 3, 2020, in Raymore, MO. Private memorial services will take place at a later date.
Kevin was born on April 26, 1954 in Council Bluffs, IA to Harold Thomas Rhode, Jr. and Janice Suzanne (Arrasmith) Rhode. He spent his youth in the Raytown area, and moved to Lamoni, IA in 1969, where he attended Lamoni High School for three years. He went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in teaching and coaching from Graceland University. His proudest extracurricular achievement was earning the NAIA All-American award for football.
Kevin’s drive for teaching others led him to a position as an instructor and coach for the Pattonsburg, MO school district. He relocated to Billings, MT, where he lived most of his adult life. He was employed with Interstate Brands (Sweetheart Bread Company) as a delivery driver and advanced to the role of route supervisor.
In 2005, Kevin moved back to the Kansas City area so that he could provide care for his mother and stepfather. He was an avid sports fan - particularly football. His great sense of humor brought a smile to many people’s faces. As an outdoorsman, he loved to spend time camping and fishing.
Survivors include his mother Janice Goold and her husband William “Bill” Goold, both of Raymore, MO; sister Debra Alfred and her husband Ron of Placitas, NM; niece Carrie Combs Dalrymple and her husband Nathan, and their two children Emma and Ethan, all of Xenia, OH.
