Robert Rhodelander, 87, of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Rehab Center of Independence. A Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Friday, August 3, 2012 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. The rosary will begin at 6:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, August 4, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church; 600 N. Liberty, Independence, MO 64050. Burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Raytown MO. Bob was born February 2, 1925 in Pleasant Hill, MO to Orville and Elsie (Henderson) Rhodelander. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked as an engineer assistant in the oil refinery of Sugar Creek until 1982. Bob’s loving wife, Mildred (Feldkamp) Rhodelander preceded him in death in 2011. He leaves behind daughters Martha Rhodelander, and Carmen Kliefoth and her husband Bob; son, John Rhodelander and his wife Susan; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters Lois Pahl and her husband Jerry, and Billie Jean Moore and her husband Gene; and a host of nieces and nephews.
