Kent Rice, 59, of Independence, MO passed away February 21, 2018. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 2, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO. Kent was born December 16, 1958 in Independence, MO to Harry and Joan (Gibbons) Rice. He was preceded in death by his parents; paternal grandparents, Harry and Nettie Rice; maternal grandparents, George and Beulah Gibbons; sister, Marsha Rice, brother, James Rice; two aunts, Jewell Alsup and Helen Roberts; nephew, Steve Lawless; and niece, Taylor Lawless.
