Robert E. Richards

Robert E. Richards, 82, of Independence, MO passed away Thursday, May 29, 2003 at the Kansas City VA Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, May 31, 2003 at the George C. Carson & Sons Funeral Home. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 - 11:00 am Saturday. Mr. Richards was born on April 16, 1921 to George and Emma Richards in LaFollette, TN and has lived in the Independence area most of his life. He had been employed with the Bendix Corporation in Security, medically retiring in 1968. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and was of the Protestant faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma K. Richards in 1979. Mr. Richards is survived by one son, Bob Richards, Oak Grove, MO, two daughters, Terri Jackson, Virginia Beach, VA, and Kathy Moorman, Kansas City, MO, five grandchildren, Jim & Robb Richards, Rick & Kerry Jackson, and Maleah Moorman, and six great-grandchildren, Amanda, Dalton & Adam Richards, and Sydney, Alexis and Blake Jackson.
