Marie Wilma Richards, 98, of Independence, MO passed away on July 25, 2020.
Visitation will be from 9-10am, with funeral to follow at 10am, both Friday, July 31, at Speaks Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St. Entombment will follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Crossroads Hospice or the DAV.
Wilma was born on July 22, 1922, in Kansas City, MO to Hugo William Schlickelmann and Ivah A. Golden Schlickelmann. She married Ernest Leonard Richards on April 17, 1938 in Kansas City, MO, and to this union were born two children. Wilma was a bus driver for Pace School Bus for 26 years, and a longtime member of Country Meadows Baptist Church. She enjoyed camping with Leonard throughout the states in their RV and spending the winter months in Texas. She had a beautiful, caring heart and she will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Osborne; grandchildren, Leonard Richards and wife Cheryl, Mike Richards, Rebecca Osborne-Wescott and husband Dean, Robert Osborne and wife Kim; great grandchildren, Ryan Wescott (Dawn), Amber White and husband Chris, Jamie Neal and husband Chad, Seth Osborne (Natilie), and Houston Richards and wife Ashton; great-great grandchildren, Laney Wescott, Henley and Bristol Wescott, Jordyn White, Wesley White, Lola Neal, Karley and Haelo Hood, Amilya Barnes, Zander Henson, and Brady, Beckett, and Colson Jones; daughter-in-law, Joyce Richards; and many additional nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Leonard Richards; son, Leonard W. Richards; and son-in-law Robert Osborne.
