Shirley Darlene Richardson passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on Monday, May 3, 2021. She was 73. Shirley was born to Wray and Matilda Richardson on May 3, 1948 in Kansas City, Missouri.
After graduating from Raytown High School in 1966, Shirley continued her education and received an Associates Degree in accounting. She became an accountant for the U.S. Government. Throughout her life Shirley would often visit her favorite place, Ventura, California. She lived there for several years. Shirley was known to live life to the fullest. She was a spitfire with a witty sense of humor and would light up the room with her presence. Christmas and birthdays were very important to her. She would look forward to celebrating with ones she loved dearly. Shirley also enjoyed cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs season after season with her family. Her bold spirit will be missed greatly.
Shirley is survived by her children, Kevin Gray (Kandice), Sheila Brown and Josh Gray (Cheryl); brothers, Larry Richardson (Beth) and Norman Richardson (Judy); grandchildren, Ashton, Blake, Kelsey, Keylea, Emma, Grant, Haley, Tyler, Hannah and Ethan; and all of her furry companions.
She is preceded in death by her partner in crime, Larry Kubick and son in law, Mike Brown.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Diabetes Association in Shirley’s memory.
