John Richerson

October 25, 1941 — January 21, 2014

John Richerson, 72, of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2014. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, January 24th at Carson Speaks Chapel. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25 at the chapel. John was born October 25, 1941 in Independence, MO to Albert and Virginia (Fulton) Richerson as one of six children. He attended college in Texas. He married his beloved Deborah (Barnhill) in July of 1978, together they raised two children. John worked as a Service Manager for National Cash Register for over 32 years, also as a Cooler Manager for Roberts Dairy, and for Whelan Security. He was a life long member of Glenwood Park United Methodist Church where his family built the church. He participated in drama, and the Methodist Men’s group. John also enjoyed bowling, playing in a regional softball team, and playing golf. As a talented singer, he performed with many choirs including the Messiah Choir and a performance at Carnegie Hall. His family will remember him for his good humor and abundant love. John is survived by wife Debbie Richerson, of the home; son, Randy Richerson and wife Julie of Raymore, MO; daughter, Amber Richerson and fiancé Philip Wilcoxson of Independence, MO; grandchildren Chandler and Tucker Richerson; sister Sally Boline and husband Loren of Lee’s Summit, MO; brother, Robin Richerson and wife Rindy of Overland Park, KS; and brother, Brad Richerson and wife Tresha of San Antonio, TX.
