Brandon Allen Richey, 37, passed away on August 6, 2017. A visitation will be held on Thursday, Aug. 10, from 5-8 p.m., at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St in Independence.

Brandon was born on March 7, 1980, in Kansas City, KS, to Terry Ray Richey and Sherri (White) Richey. He graduated from William Chrisman High School in the class of 1998, and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art from UMKC. He worked for McKeever’s Price Chopper as a manager for the dairy department for the past several years. He loved cruising in his Jeep Wrangler and watching the Chiefs, Royals, and Kyle Bush racing at NASCAR. His greatest passion, sparked at an early age, was art. He expressed himself through chalk drawing, pencil sketching, watercolor painting, and pixel designs.
Survivors include his mother, Sherri; sister, Shawna Bishop and her husband, Paul; paternal grandmother, Alice Swan; nieces and nephew Brittain, Payton, Evan, and Nathan; and many extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Terry Ray; and maternal grandparents, Louis and Jeanie White.
