Judy Jean Rieder was called home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 2, 2020. Our beloved Judy was diagnosed with cancer in August. Although she was only given days to live she fought a courageous fight for her family and friends in order to spend as much time as she could to comfort and be comforted by them.
Her family meant the world to her and she had a special love for her great niece, Kamelia. She possessed a compassionate soul reflected in the love for her pets, many of whom were strays that she rescued off the street. Her generosity extended beyond her family, reaching out to help when she saw someone in need.
Judy was born on June 25, 1963 to Barbara and John Charles Rieder. She grew up in Independence, Missouri and attended Truman High School class of 1981.
Judy was a baker at Queen's Price Chopper in Kansas City, KS for over 24 years. She is remembered as a tireless worker and caring friend to co-workers and customers alike.
Judy is survived by her loving mother, Barbara Neal and her husband Jack Neal. She also leaves behind her sister, Bridget Wagner; brother, John Rieder (Stephanie); step sisters, Cheryl Vick and Glenda Vanness; nieces, Leann, Cairn and Kayln; nephew, John; great niece, Kamelia and great nephew, Kashton.
She is preceded in death by her father, John Charles Rieder; nephew, Jason and step sister, Dawn Eckstrom.
You are welcome to join her family in celebration of our beloved Judy as she is already on the journey to her new life with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Out of respect for Judy's wishes there will be no formal service, rather we will gather together to share words of comfort and encouragement.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 7th at 10am at Woodlawn Cemetery 701 S Noland Rd, Independence, MO 64050.
