Barbara Jean Riffle, 78, recently of Cameron, passed away on Christmas Day. Services will be held at Speaks Suburban Chapel on Tuesday, December 30th. Born March 24, 1936, Barbara Jean Holt-Whiting-Riffle, youngest of five girls born to Berry Belle Hensley and Jack Holt in Warrensburg, MO. At age 3 mos., Berryman Belle died of fluid around her heart from complication caused from the influenza. Due to the times, a single father was not allowed to raise children alone, therefore the girls were divided among family members to care for. At the age of three the decision was made to place Barbara Jean in foster care with Greta and Rodrick Whiting. She gained three wonderful brothers, Raymond, Harland and later Leonard (her baby brother). She married John Thomas Riffle on April 11, 1954. They were blessed with four beautiful daughters Teresa Lou Riffle-Taylor, Connie Sue Riffle-Curtis, Donna Jo Riffle-Moore (preceded in death), and Janette Diane Riffle-Hartley (preceded in death). Barbara Jean also leaves behind nine grandchildren and ten and a 'bun-in-the-oven' great-children. Visitation 4:00-6:00 PM followed by a Memorial Service at 6:00 PM.
