Joan Rose Riggins, 80, Independence, MO passed away Sunday, September 16, 2012. Graveside services are pending at Mt. Washington Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Joan was born September 9, 1932 in Independence, Mo the daughter of Henry and Katie (Fox) Nauser. She lived in the Independence and Kansas City her entire life and was a member of the Catholic Church. Joan loved her family and enjoyed raising pugs. She was preceded in death by her husband John; son, Danny Schmidt and her parents. Survivors include her daughters, Kathy Schmidt, Christine Stevens and husband Carl, Cindy Graham; son, Raymond Schmidt; nine grandchildren; sisters, Mary Chandler, and Catherine Sheehan; and brother Johnny Nauser and wife Maryann.
