Mike T. Riley, Sr. 70, of Independence, MO passed away December 9, 2016 with his loving family by his side. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Funeral services will be 10am Wednesday at the chapel. Burial will take place in Floral Hills Cemetery. Mike was born on June 5, 1946 to William and Nettie (Monk) Riley. He was raised in Independence and graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1964. Mike was very active in the ROTC while in school, but much to his dismay was not allowed to join the Army upon graduation due to his eye sight. Mike was a very artistic person and loved draw, paint, and woodworking. Mike centered much art around his beloved KC Chiefs! He also enjoyed fishing, and most of all his family. Mike retired for Crisco with over 35 years of service. Survivors include; daughter Cara Riley Albright (Steven), son Michael Riley Jr. (Janet Fairbanks); 4 grandchildren; 3 ¾ great grandchildren; brothers Kevin Riley (Shirley) and Keith Riley; numerous friends and a large extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Pat Riley.
