Melton R. Rinacke, 78, Independence, MO formerly of Buckner, MO passed away July 31, 2014 of natural causes. Services will be 2:30 pm, Tuesday, Aug. 5 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055; interment at Buckner Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 pm before the service at the chapel. The family requests contributions to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society, 6811 Shawnee Mission Pkwy, Mission, KS 66202 or Gentiva Hospice, 4911 S. Arrowhead Drive, Ste. 310, Independence, MO 64055. Melton was born Feb. 17, 1936 in Atherton, MO and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was an electrician at Independence Power & Light and then at the Lake City Plant. He retired in 1991. He was a member of the I.B.E.W. and a deacon in the RLDS Church. He enjoyed restoring cars, working in his garage and trap shooting. He was concerned with the well-being of others and was a giving and helpful person. Melton was preceded in death by his wife Betty (Stapleton) Rinacke and son Jerry Rinacke. He is survived by daughters Kim Giles and husband Steve, Lee’s Summit, MO; Rhonda Manning and husband Scott, Independence, MO; son Jonathan Rinacke and wife Wendi, Buckner, MO; brother Harry Rinacke and wife Wanda; sister Treva Downs, all of Independence, MO; brother Geral Rinacke, Sibley, MO; grandchildren Madison, Cooper & Evan Giles; Stacy Manning; Bailee, Keinlee & Presilee Rinacke and companion Pat Wait, Buckner, MO.
