JoAnn "Judy� Davis Ring, 66, of Independence, MO, passed away, Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at her residence. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Kansas City, KS. Visitation will be from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Monday at the chapel. Donations may be made to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Ministries. She was born February 1, 1939 in Rogers, AR in Benton County to Ira M. and Mayme Ruth (Whitney) Davis. She was a member of the St. Matthew United Methodist Church and the Christ United Methodist Church in Independence, MO. JoAnn loved to read, sew and collect angels & dolls. She had a special relationship with her grandchildren. JoAnn was a 1958 graduate of Northeast High School. In her life she was a homemaker until her children reached their teens, she then became a Century 21 sales representative and also held an insurance brokers license. One of her favorite jobs as a young woman was working as a page in the downtown Kansas City Public Library which sparked a lifelong passion for library work which finally lead to a job as library technician for the Trails West Library in Independence until her retirement in 2004. Her proudest accomplishments were not that of her life, but of her children and grandchildren. She was married to James E. Ring on July 2, 1960; he survives of the home. Other survivors include; 3 daughters, Connie Thomas and her husband Phillip, Cathy Meredith and Sherri Ring-Bradshaw and her husband Keith all of Independence, MO; a son, James M. Ring and his wife Angie of Gladstone, MO; a sister, Jean Weller of Colorado; a brother, Jerry Davis of Lamar, MO; and grandchildren, David Douglas, Brandon Lewis, Jennifer JoAnn Lewis, Mindy Lewis, Christen Ring-Bradshaw and Keiffer Ring-Bradshaw.
