Pearl Pauline Hall Roach, 81, Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2012.
Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence, MO 64052. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Salem Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas City Hospice House.
She was known as Pauline to family and friends and was born the youngest of three children to John W. and Eva Jane (Vinyard) Hall on September 9, 1930 at Levasy, MO. Pauline was baptized and confirmed into the Ebenezer Evangelical and Reformed Church in 1945 and still remains a member. She was a 1948 graduate of Levasy High School and a graduate of Kansas City Comptometer School. Pauline married Calvin O. Roach on November 24, 1950. She was employed at the Railroad Express Company until going to the Kansas City Southern Railway accounting department and retiring in 1995. Pauline was a member of the Transportation and Communication International Union #326, the National Association of Retired Veterans Railway Employees, and a former member of the Railway Business Women’s Association.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband in 1967; son, Patrick R. Roach; brother, Leonard R. Hall and sister in law, Jean.
Survivors include her daughter, Terri J. Brayley and husband Steve of Independence; sister Louise Carlaw and husband Bob, Florissant, MO; brother in law Norman Roach and wife Judy of Harrisonville, MO; granddaughter, Dena Suftko and husband JJ of Wentzville, MO; grandson, John Brayley of Kansas City, MO; four great grandchildren, Makenna and Parker Brayley, Grant and Grace Suftko.
