Richard “Ricky” Dean Roark, 66, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023. A Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Carson-Speaks Chapel, with a Gathering to take place afterwards from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the American Legion Tirey Ford Post #21.
Ricky was born on September 10, 1956, to Virgil Henry and Othel Gladys (Reno) Roark in Climax Springs, MO. After graduating high school, Ricky found his way into the automotive industry, and had retired from Ford Motor Company as a quality control personnel on March 1, 2010. Ricky had enjoyed many hobbies, which mostly centered around his love of family, friends, and the outdoors. He was a loyal fan of both the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals and loved to catch a good match for most other sports, except hockey and soccer. He also had a great love for dart-throwing.
Ricky was an outdoorsman at heart, and loved to spend as much time as he could spare at Lake Pomme de Terre, where he was fond of boating. When not socializing with family and friends, Ricky could be found caring for his cats, Amos and Louie.
Ricky is survived by his fiancé, Edith Jungck; brother, Lee (Mary) Roark; sisters, Jane (Ed) Robertson and Joan (Kenny) Wheeler; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Ricky is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Othel Roark; brother, Curtis Roark; sisters, Bonnie Groom and Margie Reed; and a niece and two nephews.
Those closest to Ricky wished to express their thanks to all those who have supported them during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be made in Ricky’s honor to Four Legs and Fur Animal Society (P.O. Box 173, Hermitage, MO 65668; https://4legsnfur.com/Page/26003).
