Robert Michael “Mike” Robbins I, 71 of Buckner passed away Monday evening, April 3, 2017 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 7, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Buckner. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening, April 6, 2017 at the church. Burial with full military honors will be noon Friday in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. Mike was born March 26, 1946 in Blue Springs, MO to Everett Max and Doris K (Koch) Robbins and has been a lifelong area resident graduating from Ft. Osage High School in 1964. He proudly served in the US Army as a Medevac pilot during Vietnam. He had worked in the maintenance department for General Electric for 30 years until he retired in 2012. He enjoyed model airplanes and tinkering with his “Big Boy Toys”. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Buckner and former member of the VFW. Survivors include; his wife, Terri Robbins of the home; 5 children, Bruce Robbins (Julie) of Kansas City, MO, Jennifer Robbins of Independence, MO, Robert Michael Robbins II (Marina) of Tacoma, WA, Michelle Vircks (Scott) and Nathaniel J. Robbins all of Grain Valley, MO; his mother, Doris K Robbins of Buckner, MO; a brother, Ray Robbins of Oak Grove, MO; 2 sisters, Phyllis English of Blue Springs, MO and Kay Robbins of Tucson, AZ; 7 grandchildren and 2 step sons, Gregory and Jamie. He was preceded in death by his father, Everett Robbins. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Sonshine Daycare and Preschool Ministry of First Baptist Buckner.
