Robert "Bob" Osterberger, a hardworking man with an infectious laugh, passed away on November 14, 2023, in Independence, Missouri. Born on June 1, 1936, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Bob led a remarkable life filled with dedication and a passion for automobiles.
Bob's career was marked by his extraordinary work ethic. He spent many years in the automotive industry, primarily as a skilled tool and die maker. His commitment to his craft was unparalleled, and he approached every job with professionalism and precision. From 1955 to 1958, he proudly served in the United States Army.
Outside of work and military service, Bob possessed several hobbies and interests that brought him immense joy. He was a true car enthusiast who loved owning and working on classic cars and hot rods. Bob's skilled hands were often found tinkering under hoods or perfecting details that made each vehicle unique. In addition to his love for cars, Bob enjoyed riding his motorcycle and frequently visited the renowned Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. The thrill of the open road complemented Bob's adventurous nature. He embraced opportunities to explore new places with wind in his hair. Perhaps one of Bob's lesser-known hobbies was one that carried great sentimentality - collecting four and five-leaf clovers for his family. He would spend hours outdoors meticulously searching for these lucky emblems that symbolized his love and good fortune. It was a testament to Bob's thoughtfulness and the care with which he approached every aspect of his life.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; Louis and Marie Osterberger, his daughter; Lisa Osterberger, and his siblings; Louis Osterberger, Richard Osterberger, and Jean Osterbeger. He's survived by the love of his life and wife of 53 beautiful years; Katie Osterberger, his daughter; Denise Carter, grandsons; Tyler Carter and Austin Carter, great-grandchildren; Haily Gray and Max Gray, his brother; Jack Osterberger, best friend; Pat Hardin, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
