Robert Leslie “Bob” Edwards passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri, at the age of 77. Born on December 4, 1947, in Granite City, Illinois, Bob lived a life filled with passion, dedication, and a profound sense of service.
For over 27 years, Bob worked as a production manager at Sunshine Biscuits, a Keebler company, where his commitment and strong work ethic earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues.
A proud veteran, Bob served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. This experience shaped his character and instilled in him a deep sense of pride and responsibility. He found a significant part of that pride in his role as a member of the Patriot Guard Riders, where he honored veterans and cherished the camaraderie of his fellow servicemen. His contributions to the military community were a testament to his character: a man who understood the importance of loyalty, sacrifice, and honor.
Outside of his career and military service, Bob was also a devoted family man and friend. He had a passion for the great outdoors and spent countless days camping, fishing, traveling and golfing with those he loved. Bob was also an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, never failing to cheer them on. Additionally, his love for NASCAR brought him countless hours of entertainment, where he reveled in the thrill of the race.
Bob will be remembered for his generous spirit, unwavering dedication to service, and his ability to connect with those around him through shared interests and laughter.
He is survived by his children, Robin Edwards, Robert Edwards (Rhonda), Joe Edwards and JoAnn Hahner (Brian); brothers, Gerald Edwards and Gene Edwards; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
A funeral service in memory of Robert will be held at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Missouri, on March 28, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM, followed by a burial ceremony at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas.
As we grieve his passing, we also celebrate a life well-lived. Bob will remain forever in our hearts, a gentle reminder of the impact one person can have on the lives of so many.
