Robert “Bobby” Woodcock, Sr., Independence, Missouri, died Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Centerpoint Hospital in Independence, Missouri (with family and friends at his bedside). He was 49, born September 22, 1973, in Leavenworth, Kansas.
Bobby was the son of Joyce Woodcock, who resides in Blue Springs, Missouri, and the late Harry Robert Woodcock. He was a 1992 graduate of Immaculata High School in Leavenworth, Kansas, where he played football and basketball.
For 10 years he was a School Resource Officer for the Raytown School District and was recently working for Great Circle Academy in Kansas City, Missouri. He would always say he looked forward to going to work because he loved all the kids.
Bobby loved all sports, was a KC Chief season ticket holder for 24 years, coached little league baseball in Grain Valley, Missouri, loved fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. Bobby was an organ donor.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce Woodcock, and his son, Robert “Deuce” Woodcock Jr., both of Blue Springs, Missouri, his daughter Gracie Woodcock, of Independence, Missouri, and his dogs Marley and Nova. Cremation is planned with a private viewing and inurment to be held at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens in Independence, Missouri, with a celebration of life planned at a later date for family and friends. The family suggests any donations in Bobby’s name to KC Pet Project, KCMO.
