Eldron L. Robison, 87, of Independence, MO, passed away, Saturday, December 27, 2003 at Rosewood Health Center in Independence, MO. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at the Speaks Midtown Chapel. Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 7 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Restoration Trail Foundation 1001 W. Walnut Independence, MO 64050. He was born to James Arthur and Vera Marie (Richardson) Robison in Malta MT. His father died when he was two. Thereafter the family lived with the maternal grandparents. In 1928, the grandmother moved the family to Independence, MO, where he graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1934. In 1936 he married E. Imogene McEldery at her home in Independence, MO. They celebrated their 67th anniversary on December 24, 2003. After the U.S. entered WWII, he became a repairman for the B-52 bomber plant in Kansas City. In April of 1945 he was drafted into the army. After his honorable discharge, he became a journeyman plumber. He worked for the C. DeWalt Plumbing and Heating Co. for 20 years. In 1968 he and his son, Michael, formed the Robison Co., retiring in 1981. He joined the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, now known as the Community of Christ, at the age of ten. He was ordained an elder in 1947. He later served as a volunteer chaplain at the Independence Regional Health Center for ten years. He is survived by his wife Imogene; three sons and their wives, James W. and Elizabeth A. Robison of Holmfirth, England, Michael L. and Carol J. Robison, and Charles A. and Pamela K. Robison all of Independence, MO; a sister Leota M. Fuller of Independence, MO; a brother-in-law James L. McElderly of Raytown, MO; 9 grandchildren 20 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
