Rodger Charles Minner, 83, passed in the home on August 5, 2024. Rodger was born on July 11, 1941, in Memphis, Tennessee, to John and Idarene Minner.
Rodger is survived by wife Kathleen Minner, son Jason (Lori) Nelson, daughter Nikki (Will) Linneman-Johnson, grandchildren Jimmy Nelson, Lesley Nelson, Mikhail Jones, Lilia Linneman, and Niko Linneman. Rodger has one brother and two sisters, Calvin (Marie) Minner, Rita Sue (Fred) Warner, Janice Eddlemon and was preceded in death by father John Minner and stepmother Adelina Minner, mother Idarene Drew, brother in law Jerry Eddlemon, and son in law Ryan Linneman.
Rodger married Kathleen Nottage August 2, 1974, and they recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. Rodger spent most of his career working for Unisys as a computer programmer. In his free time, Rodger loved staying active in his carpentry workshop and fishing whenever he could. Rodger was a big fan of old time western movies and TV series and Rodgers favorite move was Jaws and often quoted a line from the movie “Show me the way to go home, I’m tired and I want to go to bed.” He has made it home.
A private graveside service will be held at Mound Grove Cemetery in Independence, Missouri.
