Michael John Rodriguez

Michael John Rodriguez, 56, of Independence, MO, passed away, Saturday, June 14, 2003 at Medical Center of Independence. Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2003 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Cremation. Visitation will be from 5 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the chapel. Michael was born June 12, 1947 in Topeka, KS to Joseph J. and Jenny (Gomez) Rodriguez. He spent his early life in Topeka graduating from high school there before joining the Army to fight in Vietnam as a medic. He then graduated from UMKC with a BA in Sociology. He worked for over 31 years for the U.S. Postal Service currently as a manager. His wife and family would like to express their gratitude for all of the love and support given to them in their time of loss, Mike was a great man and will be missed by many. He is survived by his wife Peggy (Oberhelman) of the home; 4 sons, Christopher Niles Rodriguez of Memphis, TN, Joseph Paul Rodriguez of Kansas City, MO, Nicholas Ray Estrada and Lance Michael Rodriguez both of the home; a daughter, Crystal Lynn Smith of Phoenix, AZ; 3 brothers, Richard Rodriguez and wife Monica of Topeka, KS, Tom Rodriguez and John Rodriguez and wife Sarin all of Las Vegas NV; several nieces, nephews, family and extended family.
