Jo Ann Roe

Jo Ann Roe, 70 of Buckner, MO passed away, Sat. Jun 24, 2006 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Blue Springs. Services will be 10:00 am, Tue. Jun 27, 2006 at the Speaks Buckner Chapel, 300 Adams St., Buckner, MO. Burial in Buckner Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 -8:30 pm Monday at the chapel. Contributions are suggested to a charity of choice. Mrs. Roe was born on Jan. 13, 1936 to Gibraltar and Viola (Hearn) Hammond in Pleasant Hill, MO and has lived in Buckner since 1962. She had owned and operated "Mini-Curls" beauty shop in Buckner until her retirement in 2000. Jo Ann was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family and creating special memories with each of them. She was a people person and enjoyed being active in her community, whether it was serving on the Fall Festival Committee or being President and Past President of the Buckner Chamber of Commerce. Jo Ann is survived by her husband, Howard Roe of Buckner. Three sons, Gary Roe and his companion Debbie of Oak Grove, Robby Roe and wife Terry of Russell, KS and Marty Roe and wife, Tooti of Lake Waukomis. One daughter, Lyla Thompson and husband Jay of Kansas City and five grandchildren, Jim Odneal, Jr, Angel Roe, Aaron Roe, Jeremy Roe and Amanda Roe. Three great�grandchildren, Delaney Odneal, Deyton Odneal and Haylee Gearon. Four sisters, Nadine Kirshbaum of Libby, MT, Geneva D. Hall, Blue Springs, MO, Roena White, Lee�s Summit, MO and Donna Wagner of Nevada, MO. Two brothers, Gene Hammond of Olathe, KS and Lee Hammond of Greenwood, MO. Jo Ann is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
