Freddie Phillip "Phil" Rogers

June 15, 1946 — January 16, 2021

Freddie Phillip Rogers aka Phil Rogers, 74, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on January 16th 2021, surround by his loved ones. Phil was preceded in death by his parents George Rogers Jr. and Lelia Rogers. He is survived by his loving wife Pamela, his children: Shawn (Christy), Stacia, and Stephanie, his brothers Dennis (Susan), Kevin (Tracy), and his sister Pam Sandy; grandchildren Mason, Madison, and Anaka.

Phil lived his life doing what he loved. He shared his passion for music with others since 1973 when the family opened Rogers Music. In 1983 he opened the current location at 4603 S. Norfleet, in Independence, Missouri under the name Rogers Foundation of Music and Air Digital Recording. He once quoted “Music became my guiding light. It made me who I am.” This truly represented him as most of his students learned music theory by Phil’s own method, The Five Laws of Music.

He was a man of compassion, always willing to help others without judgment. He loved his family and was cherished by all. He was an extremely talented musician and was passionate about teaching. He always believed in his students and his love for music was contagious. He will be missed by many and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
