Lee Glenn Rogers, 94, of Independence, MO, passed away, Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at his residence. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 31, 2005 at the Mt. Washington United Methodist Church. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m., until service time Saturday at the church. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m., Saturday at the Centerview Cemetery in Centerview, MO. In lieu of flowers donations to Mt. Washington United Methodist Church Seniors Day Out or to Heartland Hospice. Lee was born October 30, 1911 in Peculiar, MO to Lee and Mary (Ecton) Rogers. He graduated from Harrisonville High School in 1931. He had worked for the Ford Motor Company for 35 years retiring in 1971. He was married to Gladys Myrtle Shaw on December 25, 1935 and recently celebrated their 70 anniversary. For a number of years he and Gladys operated the Sterling Iris Garden and won many prizes and sweepstakes at the Kansas City Iris Shows. He is survived by his wife Gladys of the home; a son, Darrell Rogers and his wife Sharon of Lee�s Summit, MO; 4 grandchildren, Sunniva Marie Schmiege, Patty Mattu, Christina Boyer and Andy Rogers; 4 great grandchildren, Katie Mattu, Elizabeth Schmiege, Nicholas Schmiege and Chance Boyer; extended family, Tootie and Glen Jenkins and their daughters, Carolyn, Terri and Stephanie, his caregivers and many relatives and friends.
