Michael Cody Romines

Michael Romines, 74, of Kansas City, MO passed away February 16, 2019. A visitation will take place from 4-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 20, at Our Lady of Presentation in Lee’s Summit, MO. Michael Cody Romines was born on December 25, 1944 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the son of Art Romines and Marjorie Romines Beals. He grew up in Kansas City and graduated from Westport High School in 1962. He was drafted into the Army in 1968 and served in the Vietnam War. After returning from Vietnam, Michael attended Longview Community College, Lee’s Summit, Missouri. He began his professional employment at Tnemec Paint and then joined Husqvarna for the remainder of his career. He married Rita Jirges on December 26, 1999 in Kansas City, MO. Michael was an avid basketball player and played for the Radio Station WHB. Michael was a member of the local German Shepherd Dog Club and showed dogs all over the country. He loved to travel and took great pride in gardening and landscaping. Michael was very detail oriented and loved to research anything and everything. If you needed a spreadsheet, Michael was your guy!
Michael is survived by his wife of 20 years, Rita (Jirges) Romines, his step children, Mark Kitsmiller (Sonia), Jennifer Pate, Melissa Burris (Rick), Lisa Peterson (Robert), Lanette Mertz, and Cheryl Houfek (Greg); seven siblings, Patricia Demery (Clifford), Bill Romines (Mary Beth), Kathy Haley, Larry Romines (Autumn), Sandra Thompson (Ken), Mark Beals (Maureen), and Randy Beals; 14 step grandchildren, and 5 step great grandchildren.
