Ronald L. Brown, 91, of Buckner, Missouri, peacefully passed away May 8, 2024, at his home with his beloved family at his side.
Ron was born in Brighton, Missouri to his parents, Gayford Lamar and Icle Brown who preceded him in death. He proudly served in the US Army in Fort Sill Oklahoma during the Korean War. After his stint in the military, he worked at Blacks Silver and Bryson, as well as Gustin Bacon, Bendix and Sears Robuck Company before he settled into sales with American Family Insurance where he worked for nearly 46 years before retiring in 2013. He is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Joyce of 52 years, daughter Valerie Stevens, son-in-law Robert Stevens and brother Donald Brown, as well as great-great grandson Richard Alan Ray Hummel.
He is survived by his daughter Sherry Brison (David), son Ron (Jo Ellen), grandsons Todd Brison (Chrissy) and Shawn Brison (Tasha), granddaughters Tiffany Stoff (Sean) Stefanie Gray, brother Gary Brown (Pat) and sister Beverly Brown. Along with 12 great-grandchildren, Colton Brown, Mickala (Christian) Hummel, Tyler Brison, Salem Gray, Jordan Gray, Bailey Gray, Shelby Stoff, Sean Stoff Jr, Haley Brison, Alex (Miranda) Stuart, Alexis Stuart, James Wilson and 1 great-great granddaughter, Adalyne Herrera. Although he has left us, he was a great husband, wonderful Dad, and exceptional grandfather. Dad enjoyed football, traveling, and visiting Civil War sites along with family gatherings and dinners.
The family wishes to extend many thanks to our family and friends along with Ascend Hospice of Lee’s Summit, MO for the prayers, care and love shown to Ronald.
His visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Thursday, May 16th at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St. S., Independence, MO 64055. Funeral service will begin at 10am on Friday, May 17th and burial with military honors will follow at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Grain Valley, MO.Thursday, May 16, 2024
