Marlin Keith Root

Marlin Keith Root, 79 of Independence passed away, sat, Mar 4, 2006 at the Independence Regional Health Center. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 2:00 pm, Wed. Mar. 8, 2006 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Indep. MO with the service beginning at 2:00 pm. Contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association. Mr. Root was born on Dec. 28, 1926 to Edgar and Clara (Rudd) Root in Holden, MO. He had worked at the Vendo Corporation, retiring in the mid 1970�s. Marlin was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed hunting and fishing with his buddies. He was an army veteran of WWII. Marlin was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bill. He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Sheri and Gary Shipley of Riverside, MO and a stepson, Tony Mascari of Independence. Three grandchildren, Tom, Dustin and Christen. Five great grandchildren, Payton, Carrigan, Brooke, Riley James and Nadeya. Three step grandchildren and two sisters, Mickey Devine of Avondale, MO and Shirley Ford of Independence, MO.
