August 11, 1916 — June 10, 2007

Gracie Lee Rose, 90 of Independence passed away Sat. Jun. 9, 2007 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Services will be 10:00 am, Wed. Jun 13, 2007 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Indep. MO. Burial in New Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 �" 8:30 pm Tuesday at the chapel. Contributions are suggested to the American Diabetics Association. Mrs. Rose was born on Aug 11, 1916 to Thomas and Joycie (Hampton) Crisp in Dierks, AR, moving to Independence in 1952. She had been an inspector for the Nelly Don Garment Factory retiring in 1984. Mrs. Rose was a loving mother and grandmother to all. She enjoyed, sewing, crocheting, gardening, reading and living life to it’s fullest. She had been a member the Garment Workers Union and New Hope Baptist Church for over 28 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn S. Rose and a sister, Arverzine Rose. She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Greenawalt and husband Bob of Bates City, MO, Glenda Norval of Kansas City, KS and Carol Payne of Kansas City, MO. Two brothers, Curtis Crisp of Jacksonville, AR and Thomas Alger Crisp of Nashville, AR. Six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
