Rose Marie Walker (McKay), 75 years old, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on December 2, 2024, at her home. She is now no longer in pain and at peace with the Lord.
Rose was born November 25, 1949, in St. Joseph, Missouri, daughter of Paul and Norma (Bachman) McKay.
Rose graduated from Brea Olinda High School in 1968.
Rose worked as a Mortgage Specialist at Commerce Bank, until she retired.
Rose especially loved luncheons with her friends Palmer Center and crocheting special hats, phone holders, blankets and more for her friends and family members. She loved helping those in need by making blankets out of plastic bags for the homeless. She loved foods of all kinds and attending holiday dinners with friends and family.
Rose was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints. She had many sisters and brothers of ministry she cared for deeply.
Remaining to cherish Rose’s memory are her Children: Sean Kamp of Hawthorne, Nevada; Patrick Kamp, Donovan Kamp and wife Kellie Kamp of Independence, Missouri; Grandchildren: Delisia Kamp and Malachi Kamp of Hawthorne, Nevada; Zian Kamp, Kyra Kamp and Alec Kamp of Blue Springs, Missouri; Kaden Millar and Lea Wardlow-Lightfoot of Independence, Missouri; Kaleb Campbell and Alea Campbell of Lees Summit, Missouri; Great Grandchildren: Giovanni Fletchers-Kamp of Hawthorne, Nevada; Stephen James and Sarah James of Mosby, Missouri. Rose was an only child so no brothers or sisters. However, she had many cousin and family members that she was close with from the Bachman, McKay, and Walker sides of the family.
Rose was preceded in death by her Father Paul McKay and her mother Norma McKay.
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 15, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. followed by the Funeral Services at 2:00 p.m. at Carson Speaks Funeral Home located at 1501 W Lexington Ave, Independence, MO 64052, with Jim VanAntwerp her brother in ministry officiating the service.
Memorial donations in Rose’s memory may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at Carson Speaks Funeral Home.
