William Edward Rose, 87, of Independence, Missouri, passed away March 29, 2016 at his home. Visitation will be from 6-7pm, Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. A Memorial service will follow, beginning at 7:00 pm at the chapel. Inurnment will be at a later date in Warrensburg. Bill was born November 25, 1928, in Kansas City, Missouri. He served in the US Navy from 1946-1948. He worked at Prier Brass and JC Penney. He was a member and deacon at the Rockwood Baptist Church. Bill was a kind man, always smiling, and quick with a pithy retort. Bill loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, watching and raising birds, flying remote control airplanes, shooting craps at the casino, and collecting golf balls, but most of all he enjoyed family gatherings. He loved spending time with the family making unforgettable memories and eating delicious food! He was preceded in death by his parents Irene Vaughn and William Rose, brothers, Jimmy Rose and Richard Rose and sisters Sandra Etzenhonser and Cathy Fitzwater. He is survived by his children Steve Rose and wife Kimberly, Gary Rose and wife Danielle; grandchildren; Joey Parker, Dustin Rose, Amanda Meyer, Callie Kelly, Chris Davis, Karena Shinneman, and Kyle Jennings; great grandchildren Gabriel Rose, Gavin Rose and Cash Kelly. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Brenda Humphry. It was due to her loving care for the past several years that Bill was able to remain in his home, allowing the family to honor his final wishes. She will always be a part of our family.
