Mavis Lorene Ross, 86, of Independence, passed away on August 1, 2013, at Oak Groves Nursing and Rehab Center, Oak Grove.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 5, 2013, in the Ford Wulf Bruns Funeral Chapel, Coffeyville, KS. Visitation will be from 1-2 PM on Monday, August 5, 2013, in Coffeyville, KS.
Mavis was born on March 18, 1927, in Oswego, KS the daughter of Samuel and Susie (Stice) Smith. Mavis enjoyed spending time with her family and liked to have a good time.
She is survived by: two sons, Garry Ross and wife Sally, Leavensworth, KS; Greg Ross and wife Candi, Blue Springs; five grandchildren, Kristal, Bryan, Alex, Makayla and Logan; three great grandchildren and one on the way; Adalie, Von, Mia and Zoey; two sisters, Naomi Hoggatt and Irene Lassen, Coffeyville, KS; and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Buel Carlton Ross, her son Gordon Ross, her parents and seven sisters.
