Wilda Ross, 81, of Independence, MO passed away Thursday, November 27, 2003 at the Independence Regional Health Center. Her last six months, she was under the care of the Rosewood unit of the Groves. Services will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at 2:30 p.m. at the Speaks Suburban Chapel with the burial at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the chapel. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer�s Association. Wilda was a graduate of Graceland College, Lamoni, IA and Drake University, Des Moines, IA. She taught music in the public schools for over 10 years in Kansas. Her instrument was the Cello which she played in the Independence Symphony Orchestra over 30 years. Over the years she organized and directed numerous choirs at area churches. She was a long time member of the Independence Music Club, serving as President and other offices. She was a member of the Kife and Fork Club, the Community Music Association, League of Women Voters and numerous other civic organizations. She was also a member of First Branch in the Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She is survived by her husband, James L. Ross; a daughter, Joni L. Ross; a son, Mark L. Ross; and a granddaughter Danielle J. Ross.
