William Perry Rosson, 78 of Independence passed away Thu. Jan 19, 2006 at Carmel Hills Living Center. Perry was born Sep. 18, 1927 to George E. and Nellie Taylor Burton Rosson in Drumright, OK. He lived in Oklahoma and Colorado while he was growing up. He married Bernice Ladd on Jun 11, 1952. She died in childbirth. He then married Lillie Mae Obryan on Jan 19, 1956 and divorced in 1961. Perry then married Inis Redfield on March 21, 1962 and lived in Independence until his death. Perry served in the Oklahoma National Guard and United States Army in the 1950�s. While living in Independence, he served as a leader with the Boy Scouts. Perry was a member of the Community of Christ Heritage House congregation. Throughout his life, Perry enjoyed helping people and made an effort to do so as frequently as possible. He enjoyed working with his hands and making things for other people. He was able to continue doing this during the time he lived at Carmel Hills. Perry loved taking trips with Inis and especially enjoyed traveling back to his native Oklahoma. Perry and Inis had a loving relationship in which each of them provided support to the other. Perry was preceded in death by his parents, half-brother, Thiele Burton, and half-sister, Darlene Ledford. He is survived by his wife, Inis Rosson of the home, two daughters, Nina Stephens and Ruby and Jack Maxwell, all of Owasso. Two sons, Orang (Buddy) Rosson of, Owasso, OK and David Burton and wife, Roxanne of Catoosa, OK. Five grandsons, one granddaughter, a great-grandson and other relative and friends, who will miss him. Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Mon. Jan 23, 2006 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Indep. MO. Burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 7 - 8:30 pm, Sunday at the chapel. The family suggest contributions to Crossroads Hospice.
