Willa Dean Rountree (Curry)

Willa Dean Rountree, 90, of Shawnee, KS, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2016. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm Monday, February 8th at Carson Speaks Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, February 9th at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens, Independence, MO.
Willa was born February 4, 1925 in Altus, OK to Elbert George and Sarah Celestine (Wilson) Curry. After school she married her beloved John Rountree. Together they raised three children. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother to multiple generations. Willa was a tender caregiver who often stayed at the bedside of her family and friends in their final days. She is loved and will be missed.
Survivors include daughter, Sandra Beatty of Kansas City, KS; son, Michael Rountree and wife Judy of Shawnee, KS; son, Daniel Rountree of Odessa, MO; grandchildren, Brenda Loya, Dana Hahn, Tammy Ojeda, Harold Cooper, and Jeffrey Rountree; thirteen great grandchildren; eleven great great grandchildren; and brother, Don Curry. She was preceded in death by sister, Lenna Cole; brothers, Ross, Jim, Brian, and David Curry; her parents; and her beloved husband, John.
