Roy Vernon Ison

Roy Vernon Ison, 92 of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025 at his residence. Private family services and burial was held in Woodlawn Cemetery. Roy was born October 4, 1932 in Bates County, MO to Ervin and Gladys (Miller) Ison and has been a long time area resident. He had worked as an autoworker for over 35 years at the GM Leeds Plant in Kansas City until he retired in 1989. He enjoyed restoring old cars and tractors, traveling, music, enjoyed reading history and was a private pilot and loved to fly. He was a member of the UAW #93. He is survived by; his wife, Linda of the home; 4 children, David Ison and wife Mary of Independence, MO, Mary Jane Higgs and husband Richard of Holden, MO, Russell Ison of Independence, MO and Ann Marie Jansen and husband Keith of Broken Arrow, OK; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
